Focus Capsule has no accounts and no servers. CodeCompose collects no personal information through this app.
As of version 3.0, ads and analytics (Google Firebase) have been removed.
1. What we do not collect
Focus Capsule neither collects nor transmits:
- identity information such as your name, email address or phone number
- the contents of your pomodoros or focus records
- usage analytics, telemetry or advertising identifiers
- location, contacts or photos
There is no sign-up, and the app has no channel to any server operated by CodeCompose.
2. Where your data lives
Your pomodoros and focus records are stored in a database on your device. The time left shown in widgets and on the Lock Screen is passed between the app and its widgets on the same device.
If your device is signed in to iCloud, your data moves between your own devices through your own iCloud account (its private database). That storage is provided by Apple and CodeCompose cannot read it. Turn off iCloud for this app in your deviceโs iCloud settings and nothing leaves the device.
3. Notifications
The notification that tells you a session has ended is a local notification scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere to deliver it. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS or macOS Settings.
4. Diagnostics
The app writes the performance and error information that Appleโs MetricKit hands it to the deviceโs log only, and never sends it anywhere.
Only if you have turned on Share with App Developers on your device does Apple pass crash reports and performance metrics, which do not identify you, on to the developer. You can turn that setting off at any time under Privacy & Security in iOS or macOS Settings.
5. Purchases
The yearly subscription and the one-time purchase are sold through the App Store only. Payment details and purchaser information are handled by Apple and are never passed to CodeCompose. The app only checks, on your device, whether the purchase exists.
You cancel and manage your subscription in your App Store account settings. Appleโs handling is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. Information you send us
If you write to dev@codecompose.net we receive the email address and the contents of that message. We use it only to answer you, and delete it within three years of the matter being settled.
7. Third parties
Because no personal information is collected, none is shared with or processed by third parties. The iCloud used for sync and the App Store used for purchases are services between you and Apple.
8. Your rights
Your data sits on your own devices, so you can read, change and delete all of it inside the app at any time. Deleting the app removes its data from that device; anything in iCloud can be removed from your deviceโs iCloud settings.
To access, correct or delete information you sent us by email, write to dev@codecompose.net.
9. Children
This app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
